The Week Ahead
THEATER
Charles Isherwood
Splatter-movie lovers who are also musical-theater devotees — not a lot of crossover there, I suspect — can have both tastes sated at “EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL,” which sets to music the grisly comic story from the cult horror movie (and its sequel) directed by SAM RAIMI. The outline is what you might call classic: Five college students descend upon an abandoned cabin deep in the woods. Mayhem ensues, but this time it’s not just the chain saw that starts singing. Opens Wednesday at New World Stages, (212) 239-6200.
